Bhubaneswar, 02 April (H.S.): In a major breakthrough in the Choudwar jail break case, a special team of the Commissionerate Police has arrested the second fugitive from Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

Director General of Police, Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, confirmed the arrest and stated that the accused identified as Raja Sahani, had been living in disguise to evade capture. He is currently being brought back to Odisha on transit remand for further legal proceedings.

With this arrest, two of the three prisoners who escaped from Choudwar jail have now been apprehended. Earlier, co-accused Madhukant Rana was arrested from Vrindavan.

The prisoners had escaped on the day of Dussehra after cutting through the jail grill, raising serious concerns over prison security. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the incident, including the possibility of inside assistance.
