Guwahati, 02 April (HS): In a major anti-narcotics operation, a team from Basistha Police Station in Guwahati at Wednesday night arrested a drug peddler from the New Market area under Basistha locality.

According to police sources, the accused has been identified as Paresh Deka. During the operation, the police recovered 36 containers of suspected narcotic substances from his possession. In addition to the contraband, a mobile phone and some cash were also seized.

The arrest is part of the ongoing efforts by Assam Police to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse in the region. Further investigation is underway to trace the network and sources linked to the accused.------------
