Nalbari (Assam), 19 April (HS): In a tragic incident, three persons, including two sisters, lost their lives after drowning in the Pagladiya River at Borshiral in Dhamdhama area of Nalbari district on Sunday evening.

According to reports, the victims had gone for an evening walk along the riverside when the mishap occurred. The deceased have been identified as Pinky Das, Guddu Deka and Divya Jyoti Dorji.

Sources said that the trio accidentally slipped into the river and drowned. Local residents and rescue teams rushed to the spot, but all three could not be saved.

The incident has cast a pall of gloom in the locality, and further investigation is underway.----------
