Lucknow,

April 19 (HS): An examination of a tea kiosk in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur

district has sparked a controversy, with the proprietor claiming harassment and

tying it to a recent visit by Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav. On Sunday,

the SP president met with the owner's son, Aryan Yadav, who had stated that

they were closing the shop owing to continuous threats, to show sympathy and

promised that his party would ensure that they get justice. On April 15, Food

Safety Department officials examined Sheshmani Yadav's shop and collected tea

leaf samples for laboratory examination in response to a complaint filed on

April 1 through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal.

According

to Chief Food Safety Officer Rajesh Dixit, the action was taken in response to

a complaint. The results of the lab tests will determine what measures to take

next. If criteria are not reached, the store may face additional sanctions, he

stated on Sunday. According to the business owner, during the inspection,

officials questioned the usage of aluminum utensils for brewing tea. However,

officials failed to reply to this accusation. The business owner, Sheshmani

Yadav, said that pressure from authorities began following the SP chief's

visit. We've been hounded since his visit. It has become difficult to run

the shop, he explained.

The

situation worsened after his son, Aryan Yadav, stated on social media that the

family was closing the business owing to persistent harassment, threats, and

inspections by several authorities.

Khaga

Circle Officer Durgesh Deep denied the charges, saying, I met Sheshmani

Yadav on Saturday as well, and he did not raise any such concerns about

harassment, improper sampling, or misconduct by the Food Safety

Department. Authorities have stated that the examination was regular and

based entirely on a filed complaint.

Meanwhile,

at a news conference at the SP headquarters in Lucknow on Sunday, Akhilesh

Yadav expressed his solidarity for the afflicted family and handed brass

utensils to Aryan Yadav. Criticizing the action, Yadav stated, The young

man will receive justice, and those responsible for the incident will face

severe consequences. Action will also be taken against those behind it.

The establishment was shut because tea was being made using aluminum utensils.

Tea

is made with aluminum utensils in Lucknow and in homes. The general population

will react to such a system. Aryan Yadav claimed that the conflict began when

he served tea to the SP chief during his visit. Our state's president recently

visited our neighborhood. I offered him tea, and then the action began against

us. He mentioned that sometimes our business is vandalized and samples are

removed. He further stated that anonymous individuals attacked and intimidated

him, and that despite submitting reports, no meaningful action was done.
