Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla stated on Tuesday that the talent, skills, innovation, and dedication of the youth will render the nation even more powerful and developed.

Om Birla expressed this during the 'Know Your Leader' programme organised by the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute of the Lok Sabha Secretariat in the Central Hall of Constitution House on the occasion of Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti.

Birla described India's youth as the true torchbearers of Babasaheb's ideals and exhorted them: The youth must perpetually labour with the spirit of 'Nation First'. Dr. Ambedkar's life teaches us that positive societal transformation is attainable through education, awareness, and organised endeavours. Today, as we advance towards constructing a developed and inclusive India, Babasaheb's thoughts acquire even greater relevance. His struggle and philosophy inspire us to stand resolutely against injustice, inequality, and discrimination.

He remarked that despite adverse circumstances, Babasaheb scaled myriad summits and, through his indomitable courage, rigorous diligence, and the potency of education, not only established himself but also emerged as a radiant beacon of hope for millions of the deprived and oppressed. With his prodigious talent, unwavering commitment, and steadfast loyalty, he transmuted every challenge in his life into an opportunity. His life, ideals, thoughts, and invaluable contribution to nation-building remain an eternal inspiration for us all.

Babasaheb enshrined progressive provisions in the Constitution, such as the right to equality and the right to vote without discrimination, thereby laying the bedrock of a robust India—a foundation that continues to invigorate not only India's democracy but also democracies across the globe.

The Speaker affirmed that Dr. Ambedkar adopted the values of equality, liberty, justice, and fraternity as the very tenets of his existence and infused these ideals into India's Constitution, thereby bestowing upon the nation a potent trajectory.

Babasaheb stands as that unparalleled jewel of our republic whose life and deeds have profoundly influenced generations before and after Independence, evolving into an inexhaustible reservoir of inspiration. He concluded that Dr. Ambedkar's inspirational life and ideals will perpetually guide us towards forging a just, harmonious, and empowered India.

Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh, among other leaders, paid floral tributes today to Dr. Ambedkar's statue at the Prerna Sthal within the Parliament House complex on his birth anniversary.
