Chennai , 14 April (H.S.): Union Minister for Health, Family Welfare, Chemicals, and Fertilizers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, stated here on Tuesday that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is a dynastic party whose governance is transforming Chennai from a cultural capital into the 'crime capital,' a matter of grave concern for the entire nation.
Nadda made these remarks while addressing a gathering after releasing the BJP's vision document 'Kamal Ke Vaade 2026' for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on the auspicious occasion of Puthandu (Tamil New Year) and the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar in the Tamil Nadu capital.
Expressing profound concern over the state's current condition, he launched a scathing attack on the ruling DMK government. He declared, “We Indians take immense pride in Tamil Nadu as the birthplace of one of the world's most ancient civilizations, yet under the present DMK regime, this cultural capital is morphing into the 'crime capital'—a deeply alarming development.”
Nadda asserted that when he refers to dynastic families, he means a party orchestrated by one family, where Stalin reigns at the apex, Udhayanidhi is positioned as the heir apparent, and Kanimozhi functions as an ally. He questioned whether a party can be run in this manner, labeling it familial despotism. The DMK has betrayed the trust of women, youth, and marginalized sections of society.
During the launch of the manifesto, extending greetings on the occasion of Puthandu, the Union Minister remarked that being amidst his brothers and sisters in Tamil Nadu on this auspicious day fills him with immense joy. May this New Year usher in happiness, prosperity, and robust health for all of you.
Paying homage to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar,
Nadda stated that his unparalleled contributions to the legal domain and social justice will continue to inspire us eternally.
