Guwahati, 13 April (HS): Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia on Monday extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Rongali Bihu, describing it as a harbinger of hope, harmony and cultural resurgence in Assam.

In a statement issued from the party’s state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, Saikia said that with the conclusion of the Chaitra month and the arrival of Bohag (Baisakh), a new chapter of life and festivity begins in Assam. He noted that for the Assamese society, Bohag is not merely a seasonal transition but a vibrant symbol of cultural identity, collective hope and social unity.

Extending his wishes beyond all barriers of caste, tribe, religion, language and community, Saikia greeted people across the hills and plains of the state on the Assamese New Year and Rongali Bihu. He expressed hope that, like the festival itself, the hearts of every citizen would be filled with colours, joy and renewed energy.

Saikia further stated that the sacred festival, deeply rooted in Assam’s ancient cultural traditions, would strengthen the bonds of unity in society and usher in prosperity, happiness and collective well-being. On the occasion of the Assamese New Year, he wished for the good health, prosperity and overall welfare of all citizens, praying for peace, harmony and continuous progress in the days ahead.---------------
