
Guwahati, 31 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to Upendranath Brahma on the occasion of his birth anniversary, which is observed as ‘Chatra Divas’ across the state.
Remembering the iconic Bodo leader, the Chief Minister said that Brahma dedicated his entire life to safeguarding the distinct identity, culture and rights of the Bodo community. He described him as a towering personality of Assam and a guiding force whose sacrifices and contributions will continue to inspire generations to come.
Dr Sarma noted that the State Government had declared Brahma’s birth anniversary as ‘Chatra Divas’ as a mark of respect and recognition for his invaluable contributions. He extended warm greetings to the student community of Assam on the occasion and reiterated the government’s commitment to uphold and promote the ideals and values espoused by the revered leader.
Paying homage, the Chief Minister expressed deep reverence and said that the legacy of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma will forever remain etched in the hearts of the people of Assam.----------
