
Thiruvananthapuram, 31 March (H.S.):The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will release its manifesto for the Kerala Assembly elections on Tuesday, in a significant step to strengthen its campaign ahead of polling. BJP president Nithin Nabin will unveil the manifesto at a function in Thiruvananthapuram at 2 p.m.
The manifesto is expected to include major development proposals, with indications that a high-speed rail project could feature prominently. The party is also likely to announce a range of promises aimed at attracting youth and women voters. Political circles in Kerala are closely watching to see the details of the “Modi Guarantee” announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ahead of the release, Nithin Nabin will participate in a roadshow in Attingal in the morning, energising the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) campaign in the state.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also expected to arrive in Kerala on Tuesday, adding further momentum to the party’s campaign. He is likely to take part in various programmes in Thiruvananthapuram district and is scheduled to campaign in constituencies such as Haripad, Thrippunithura, Thalassery and Kozhikode in the first week of April.
Several senior leaders, including Union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, and S. Jaishankar, along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, are expected to campaign in Kerala in the coming days.
Adding star appeal to the campaign, actor and BJP leader Khushbu Sundar will campaign for NDA candidates in Kozhikode. She is scheduled to take part in a roadshow and election rally on Mavoor Road.
With the manifesto launch and the arrival of top leaders, the BJP is aiming to intensify its campaign and expand its presence in the state.
