Guwahati, 30 March (HS): More than five lakh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers across Assam participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mera Booth Sabse Majboot” programme on Monday, according to a statement issued by the state BJP.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma described the Prime Minister’s virtual address to party workers as a “blessing” for accelerating Assam’s development journey. The programme, held at 1 pm, connected booth and Shakti Kendra-level workers across the state, aiming to strengthen grassroots organisational efforts.

During the interaction, the Prime Minister also engaged with five selected party workers from different parts of Assam, discussing various local issues and organisational matters. State BJP president and MP Dilip Saikia said the initiative would energise party workers further, adding that BJP cadres work not only to win elections but also to win the trust and confidence of the people through dedication and commitment.

According to state spokesperson Ranjeev Kumar Sharma, over five lakh workers gathered at more than 4,500 Shakti Kendras out of a total of 6,348 across Assam to listen to the Prime Minister’s address. Union Minister Pabitra Margherita also joined party workers at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati to hear the speech.

Meanwhile, BJP National President Nitin Navin concluded his two-day visit to Assam and returned to New Delhi on Monday. During his visit, he addressed a large election rally titled “Vijay Sankalp Yatra” at Devshal playground in Jagiroad, Morigaon district, in support of party candidate and minister Pijush Hazarika. State BJP president Dilip Saikia was also present at the rally.

However, due to inclement weather, Navin could not attend a scheduled campaign event in Bokakhat in Golaghat district.----------
