Tura (Meghalaya), 03 March (HS): A two-day Youth Parliament 2026 commenced in Tura under the aegis of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to promote youth leadership and democratic values.

The programme, organised by the Political Science Department of Tura Christian College, was inaugurated by Assembly Speaker Thomas A. Sangma at the District Auditorium.

Addressing the gathering, Sangma described the initiative as a historic step for Tura and said the Youth Parliament would offer students firsthand experience of legislative procedures, debate and decision-making.

The valedictory session on Wednesday will be attended by Rajya Sabha MP Wanweiroy Kharlukhi as chief guest.----------
