Biswanath (Assam), 29 March (HS): Senior Congress leader Jitendra Singh arrived in Biswanath on Saturday and launched a sharp attack on the ruling BJP, while also questioning the credibility of the newly formed Jai Bharat Party.

Addressing the media, Singh claimed that people across Assam are eagerly waiting for April 9, expressing hope for a political change. He alleged that the current government is marked by corruption, syndicate operations and divisive politics, adding that such an environment is visible from Sadiya to Dhubri. He emphasized that every government, regardless of party, must be accountable to the public for its performance over five years, but accused the present administration of failing to deliver on its promises.

Speaking about the Biswanath constituency, Singh said Congress candidate Jayanta Bora enjoys strong public support and recognition. He contrasted Bora with his opponent, alleging that voters are well aware of the latter’s conduct and treatment of the public.

Singh expressed confidence that voters would support Congress in the upcoming polls and contribute to building a “new Assam.”

Reacting to the emergence of the Jai Bharat Party, Singh dismissed it as having no real existence, claiming it lacks registration and an official symbol. He further made a sensational allegation that the party’s financial backing is linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party.--------
