Guwahati, 29 March (HS): Dispur Police in Guwahati city have arrested two drug peddlers and seized a significant quantity of heroin during a raid conducted on Sunday.

According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, a team from Dispur Police Station’s EGDP unit carried out a search operation at a rented house. During the operation, the team busted a drug supply network operating in the area.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Raju Ali (33) and Anwar Hussain (32), both allegedly involved in heroin trafficking. Police recovered 33 plastic containers filled with heroin, 14 empty containers, six mobile handsets, and cash amounting to ₹68,574 from their possession.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further legal proceedings have been initiated.----------
