(HS): As announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Maharashtra State Power
Regulatory Authority has declared reduction in power tariff from April 1, 2026.
The power tariff will be reduced in Maharashtra gradually in the next five
years. The decision is applicable to both industrial and domestic use
consumers.
According to the
new tariff rates for 1 to 100 units will be Rs 7.10 from earlier Rs 7.31; from
101 to 300 units the charges have been reduced from Rs 13.17 to Rs 12.94 per
unit and from 301 to 500 units new charges will be Rs 17.35 from Rs 17.56 per
unit. Only one paise per unit will be reduced for consumers above 500 units
from Rs 19.15 to Rs 19.14.
Those who have
installed Smart Meters will get additional benefits. The domestic consumers
were getting concession of 80 paise per unit for power use between 9 am and 5
pm, which has been increased to 85 paise.
