Guwahati, 24 March (HS): A total of 818 candidates have filed as many as 1,391 nomination papers for the upcoming General Election to the Assam Legislative Assembly, 2026, reflecting a significant level of political participation across the state.

According to official information shared last late night, the process of compiling and verifying nomination data is still underway. Authorities stated that the figures remain provisional and are subject to change as scrutiny and final updates continue.

The final count of candidates and nomination papers will be confirmed after the completion of the scrutiny process by the election authorities.
