
Mumbai, 23 Mar (HS): Chief Minister Devendra
Fadnavia assured unbiased enquiry into the sexual exploitation In Nashik, and
said that the issue is connected to the dignity of victimised women.
The issue related to sexual exploitation of women by
Ashok Kharat in Nashik was raised in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Ashok
Kharat projected himself as a great astrologer, and his relations with several
influential political and social leaders was raised by the Opposition members
including Vijay Wadettiwar. Wadettiwar moved an adjournment motion to discuss
the issue, which was rejected by the Speaker Rahul Narvekar. He said that the
discussion using other tools can be allowed.
Wadettiwar alleged that several former and present
ministers who are connected with Kharat should be made co-accused in the case.
The ministers should also resign like Women’s Commission Chief Rupali
Chakankar. Congress leader Nana Patole and UBT Sena Leader Bhaskar Jadhav also
demanded resignation of ministers connected with Kharat.
Fadnavis said that many victims are approaching
police and the government, demanding stern action against Kharat. The enquiry
in the case will be carried as per the existing law and nobody found guilty
will be spared.
