Guwahati, 23 March (HS): A malicious group has circulated an AI-generated fake post on social media, falsely using the name of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), North Assam Province. As soon as this fake post came to light, Guru Prasad Medhi- the RSS Guwahati Mahanagar Sanchalak (City Convener)- raised serious allegations regarding the matter on Monday. In connection with this incident, written First Information Reports (FIR) have been lodged with the Assam Cyber Cell in Guwahati and the Rohini Cyber Cell in New Delhi.

He stated that a malicious group has shared a post containing such false information on social media with the specific intent of tarnishing the RSS's image in the public mind and misleading the people. The propagation of posts containing such false information could disrupt the law and order situation within society and pose a threat to social unity and communal harmony. To initiate legal action against this act, the RSS Guwahati Mahanagar Committee has lodged a written complaint with the Cyber Cell of the Assam Crime Branch and has appealed to the police administration to take strict action.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, an FIR regarding this matter has also been lodged at the Rohini Cyber Police Post in New Delhi. Akshay Agarwala, a resident of Lal Jyoti Apartments in Sector 9, Rohini (New Delhi), lodged an FIR at the Cyber Cell Police Post located in Sector 17, Rohini, on March 21, 2026. ---------
