Golaghat (Assam), 23 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday launched a sharp attack on Congress President and MP Gaurav Gogoi, claiming that Gogoi would have secured more votes had he filed his nomination in Pakistan instead of India.

Addressing a massive gathering in Golaghat during the nomination rally of Assam minister Atul Bora, the Chief Minister alleged that those acting as “agents of Pakistan” should contest elections there and not in India.

The remark came amid a huge turnout of supporters who joined Bora’s nomination procession, which witnessed a sea of people across the town. The rally reflected strong backing from party workers and alliance supporters ahead of the elections.

Earlier in the day, Atul Bora visited the Purba Jyotipur Namghar in Bokakhat and offered prayers before proceeding to file his nomination papers.-----------
