Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has frequently praised Bharat Ratna

awardee Ustad Bismillah Khan, calling his musical legacy excellent. Yogi backed

measures for the well-known shehnai master, such as clearing a music hamlet

near Varanasi. On the anniversary of Ustad Bismillah Khan's birth, CM Yogi has

frequently paid respect to him, emphasizing his enormous contribution to Indian

classical music. Yogi Adityanath approved the establishment of a music town in

Varanasi in 2017 in remembrance of the great shehnai performer. Yogi Adityanath

has praised Bismillah Khan's artistic dedication and involvement in

establishing Varanasi as his 'Karmabhoomi'.

He penned

a post on X, which reads as follows: “Humble tribute on the birth anniversary

of 'Bharat Ratna' Ustad Bismillah Khan, the great seeker of Shahanai who gave

global recognition to Indian classical music. His contribution to strengthening

national unity and cultural pride through music is incomparable. His art and

practice will always inspire.”
