Lucknow, 21
March (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the
National Forestry Dialogue on the topic 'Forests and Economies', 'Aranya
Sammelan', organised at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Saturday on the
occasion of International Forest Day. Uttar Pradesh Forest Minister Dr Arun
Kumar Saxena and Minister of State for Forest K P Malik were present on the
occasion. The Chief Minister and other guests on the stage also released
several table books. Forest officials from different parts of the country are
participating in the Forestry Dialogue.
On this
occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that forest conservation and
forest cover promotion are essential for the well-being of all living beings.
Every person has suffered the ill effects of nature. The earth is our mother;
we are all its children. Our mother's honor should not be compromised.
Therefore, we should make efforts to conserve forests, and everyone should
plant at least one tree.
The Chief
Minister said that there has been a change in the weather cycle. This is a new
warning. Forests are the basis of nature's balance. Forest and Economics is
this year's theme. We have increased the budget on the issue of protection. Rs.
800 crore have been allocated for social forestry. Rs. 50 crore have been made
available for the Forestry University. A center has been established in
Gorakhpur for the Jatayu Conservation Center. A policy has been formulated in
the state to achieve the net carbon target. Ayodhya is developing as a solar
city. The process of declaring heritage trees is underway.
The Chief
Minister said that the increase in forest cover is a pleasant experience. We
have nurseries available for planting 50 crore trees. Yogi Adityanath said that
from India's Vedic tradition to the present challenges, we have suffered the
adverse consequences of tampering with nature. The earth is our mother. We are
all her sons. What is every son's responsibility towards his mother? Every
citizen of the world should consider where their efforts have failed in
respecting and protecting her. Forests provide the foundation of life and a
balance in nature. Forests provide water. Water and forests provide air. Air
provides life. Life is unimaginable without them.
