
Guwahati, 21 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday paid heartfelt tributes to freedom fighter Kushal Konwar on the occasion of his birth anniversary, remembering his ideals of truth, non-violence, and supreme sacrifice.
In his message, the Chief Minister described Konwar as not just a freedom fighter but a living symbol of truth, non-violence, and selfless sacrifice. He stated that the path of peace, progress and development on which Assam is moving today is rooted in the sacrifices of martyrs like Konwar, whose blood is embedded in the soil of the state.
Sarma further noted that Konwar’s life teaches that patriotism is not merely a word but is defined by sacrifice and unwavering commitment to the nation. He also highlighted that the martyr stood firm against injustice, choosing sacrifice over surrender in the struggle for India’s freedom.
Paying homage, the Chief Minister honoured the brave son of Maa Bharti and remembered his legacy with deep respect on his Jayanti.----------
