New Delhi, 19 March (H.S.): The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued summons to actress Nora Fatehi, actor Sanjay Dutt, lyricist Raqib Alam, producer Venkat K Narayanan, and director Kiran Kumar over the controversial song Sarke Chunar Sarke, citing prima facie obscenity and indecency.

Invoking powers under the NCW Act, 1990, the panel took suo motu cognizance of media outcry, deeming the content sexually suggestive and violative of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, IT Act, and POCSO provisions. The directive mandates their appearance before the Commission on March 24 at 12:30 p.m. with pertinent documents; non-compliance risks legal repercussions.

The track from the upcoming KD: The Devil—a Hindi rendition of a Telugu hit—has ignited backlash for double-entendre lyrics and provocative visuals, amplifying scrutiny on Bollywood's item song tropes.
