March (HS): Under the 'Ullhas-Nav Bharat Literacy Programme', which is being
run with the aim of promoting adult literacy in the state, the second phase of
literacy examination was organized in all the districts of the state on Sunday.
During this, the examination was conducted at more than 35 thousand literacy
examination centres, in which a large number of illiterate participants took
part. In this regard, Director General, School Education, Monika Rani informed
that under the 'Ullhas-Nav Bharat Literacy Programme', the literacy campaign is
being effectively carried forward in the state. She informed that 4,93,516
illiterate people, who were shortlisted on the Ullas portal till March 14,
2026, have participated in this examination.
The
Director General stated that under this campaign, efforts are being made to
educate not only ordinary citizens but also various sections of society. In
this regard, illiterate prisoners held in the Kanpur Dehat and Farrukhabad
district jails were also included in this literacy test, so that they too could
be connected to education and brought into the mainstream.
