Ballia, 15
March (HS): Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia
district on allegations of raping a 25-year-old lady under the guise of marriage,
a police officer said on Sunday. According to police, the lady filed a
complaint alleging that Krishna Rajbhar (24), a resident of Sahatwar Purab Tola
Phulwari village in the Sahatwar police station area, had intimate relationship
with her for six years and promised her marriage.
The woman
said in her lawsuit that when she became pregnant, Rajbhar informed her that he
was actively preparing for a job and so could not endure any costs at the time.
He asked her to get an abortion. The woman said that she took abortion pills
and agreed to marry Rajbhar after he acquired a job.
The
complainant said that after Rajbhar received the job, she visited his house to
discuss their marriage. However, his family members allegedly mistreated her,
forced her out of the house, and threatened to murder her. Kshitij Tripathi,
SHO of Kotwali police station, said on Sunday that a case was filed against
Krishna Rajbhar under sections 69 (sexual intercourse by deceptive means,
etc.), 89 (causing miscarriage without the woman's consent), 351(3) (criminal
intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of
peace) of the BNS. The culprit was apprehended on late Saturday night,
according to the SHO.
