March (HS): Police in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district nabbed a criminal with a
Rs 25,000 bounty on his head during an encounter late Saturday night, according
to a police officer, adding that he had a gunshot wound to his left leg. Kripa
Shankar, Additional Superintendent of Police (South), stated that at midnight,
a team from the Garhwar police station and the SOG (Special Operations Group)
sought to catch the wanted criminal on a tip-off. When the suspect realized he
was encircled by cops, he reportedly shot at them. The police shot in
self-defense, and the criminal suffered injuries to his left leg, according to
the officer, who added that he was later apprehended.
Tenger Nat
(35), a Kharhatar village inhabitant in the Gadwar police station area, has
been identified. Nat has been transferred to Ratsar's community health clinic,
where he is presently receiving treatment, according to the ASP. The apprehended
accused is suspected of being engaged in multiple theft occurrences in the
district's Garhwar, Sukhpura, and Nagra police stations. He was found in
possession of countrymade weapon and cartridges.
