Chandigarh, 14 March (H.S.): Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched BJP's campaign for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections at a rally in Moga's Killi Chahlan village, declaring the party will contest alone and form the next government.

Addressing the crowd, Shah asserted BJP has played second fiddle in Punjab but now stands ready to lead. He claimed public support, citing the party's 19% vote share in 2024 Lok Sabha polls—similar to its successful strikes in Assam, Manipur, Tripura, and Uttarakhand—and accused Congress, Akali Dal, and AAP of fueling drugs, debt, corruption, gangsterism, and conversions.

Shah lambasted AAP's unfulfilled promise to end drugs in four months, vowing BJP would eradicate them entirely. He highlighted Punjab's industrial exodus, neglected farmers, and youth lacking vision, slamming the state government for nonexistent law and order.

Targeting Congress over 1984 riots—alleging Rajiv Gandhi insulted Sikhs and tanks targeted Akal Takht—Shah praised BJP's compensation, jobs for victims, citizenship for Afghan Sikhs, and Kartarpur Corridor. He pledged an immediate anti-conversion law, invoking Guru Teg Bahadur's sacrifice against forced conversions.

Shah positioned BJP as Punjab's sole solution to its pressing woes, urging voters to back transformative change.
