Bhubaneswar, 14 March (H.S.): The session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly scheduled for March 16 has been cancelled in view of the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in India. Polling for the elections will take place between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm on the same day.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee . As per the committee’s decision, replies to the questions that were listed for discussion on March 16 will now be tabled in the House on March 17.
The Assembly proceedings will resume on Tuesday, March 17, at 10:30 am.
Meanwhile, the demand grants related to the Odisha School and Mass Education Department and the Odisha Higher Education Department — part of the 2026–27 state budget that was approved by the House on February 24 — will be taken up for discussion and voting on March 20.
