Chennai, 14 March (H.S.) : In a significant move to strengthen its communication strategy ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) units of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry inaugurated a specialized Election Media Training Camp today.

The event, held at Ayyaavu Mahal in Aminjikarai, was led by Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, who is also the party’s election in-charge for the region. The session saw the participation of senior party leaders and media wing representatives from across the state and the Union Territory.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal emphasized the critical role of effective communication in reaching the grassroots level. He highlighted the importance of highlighting the Union government’s welfare schemes and developmental initiatives to the public.

The Minister noted that the training camp is designed to equip party spokespersons and media coordinators with the necessary skills to counter misinformation and present the party’s vision for a Developed Tamil Nadu and Developed Puducherry. He urged the cadre to use digital and traditional media platforms effectively to engage with diverse voter segments.

State leadership, including senior office-bearers, shared the stage to discuss the political landscape in the poll-bound regions. Authorities within the party stated that similar workshops would be conducted at the district level to ensure a unified and professional approach to media management.

The training covered various aspects of political communication, including television debate techniques, social media management, and the ethical use of information during the campaign period.

As the state moves closer to the formal announcement of the election schedule, the BJP is focusing on building a robust narrative to challenge its political rivals and expand its footprint in the southern states.
