New Delhi, 14 March (H.S.): Following Air India and IndiGo, Akasa Air has announced a fuel surcharge on domestic and international flights, ranging from ₹199 to ₹1,300, effective March 15 and scaled according to flight duration.

In a statement issued Saturday, Akasa Air attributed the levy to surging oil prices triggered by the ongoing West Asia conflict. The airline will impose the surcharge on every flight, with amounts varying by journey length.

Akasa Air clarified that all bookings made from 00:01 hours on March 15, 2026, across domestic and international routes, will attract the charge between ₹199 and ₹1,300.

Notably, escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia have driven up aviation turbine fuel (ATF) costs substantially. In response, Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo have already introduced similar surcharges on their domestic and international tickets.
