New Delhi, 12 March (H.S.): Opposition leaders staged a demonstration in the Parliament premises today, highlighting the gas crisis triggered by the ongoing war between the US-Israel and Iran in West Asia.The protest featured Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, General Secretary KC Venugopal, leader Priyanka Gandhi, Rajiv Shukla, Samajwadi Party's Ram Gopal Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, and over 200 MPs, who brandished large posters and cutouts of gas cylinders while raising slogans against the government.

Posters depicted cylinders emblazoned with demands addressing the gas shortage, as protesters claimed the conflict has disrupted supplies, causing severe hardship for the public.Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal posted on X about long queues forming nationwide due to LPG shortages, with millions facing food security threats, small eateries shuttering, and widespread panic ensuing. He accused the Prime Minister of helplessness and the government of failing to manage the crisis, demanding immediate resolution through the parliamentary protest.

Meanwhile, eight opposition MPs expelled for the entire Budget session joined Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in a separate demonstration at the Makar Dwar gate, sitting on the steps with banners and posters featuring gas cylinder images and slogans like India Needs Gas Cylinders.
