March (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath routinely praises

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj for his bravery, sacrifice, and opposition against

the Mughals. As part of his efforts to promote Maratha heritage, Yogi has

honored Sambhaji Maharaj on his birth/death anniversaries, praising his

dedication to national pride and tenacity. CM Yogi referred to Chhatrapati

Sambhaji Maharaj's sacrifice as a glorious tale of valor and patriotism. Yogi

highlights Sambhaji and his father, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, as authentic

national heroes, frequently pitting them against Mughal emperors. The Uttar

Pradesh government has announced steps to celebrate Marathi heritage, including

plans for a spectacular memorial to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Agra. Yogi

uses the honoring of Maratha leaders to advance cultural heritage and national

identity concepts, which frequently spark public discussion.

In a post

on X, he mentioned, “Humble tributes to the great Maratha Chhatrapati Sambhaji

Maharaj on his martyrdom day, who sacrificed his life for his own religion,

self-rule, and national defense. His supreme sacrifice on the altar of national

duty is a golden chapter of valor, sacrifice, and self-respect in Indian

history.”

In another

post on X, he extended birthday wishes to Cabinet Minister Shri Sunil Kumar

Sharma on his birthday and stated, “Heartiest birthday wishes to my colleague

in the Uttar Pradesh government, Cabinet Minister Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma. I

pray to Lord Shri Ram that you may be blessed with good health, long life, and

a successful life, and that you continue to pursue the path of public service.”
