World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus delivered a commanding performance against fellow Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka of Japan, winning 6-2, 6-4 on Tuesday to advance to the Indian Wells Open quarterfinals.
Sabalenka unleashed 31 winners and 8 aces, breaking Osaka's serve twice in the first set for a swift takeover. In the second, Osaka mounted a fightback but couldn't breach Sabalenka's robust service game; the Belarusian saved both break points and clinched a 4-3 edge with a stunning forehand winner.
