New Delhi, 11 March (H.S.): The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed delays in teams' return home post-ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, blaming severe disruptions from the Gulf region's ongoing crisis.

Airspace Chaos Disrupts Repatriation

Airspace closures, missile alerts, flight reroutes, and sudden cancellations of commercial/charter services have complicated travel for players, coaches, support staff, and families. ICC stressed these factors are beyond its control, prioritizing safety amid the turmoil.

Coordination Efforts Intensify

ICC is liaising with airlines, charter operators, airports, handlers, and governments to expedite safe departures. South Africa's contingent begins flying out tonight, aiming for completion within 36 hours; West Indies sent nine players home already, with 16 more departing India in 24 hours.

Dispelling Rumors

ICC dismissed media speculation of bias, clarifying South Africa/West Indies arrangements differ from England's or others due to unique routes and conditions. Player welfare remains paramount, with thanks extended to all for patience.
