Bhubaneswar, 10 March (H.S.): A group of students from Odisha showcased an innovative fintech solution at the Global Financial Forum in Tokyo, marking a significant achievement for the state’s higher education sector.
The students participated under the Certification Programme in Fintech & Insurtech (CFI), an initiative launched by the Government of Odisha in collaboration with the National University of Singapore’s Asian Institute of Digital Finance and the Global Finance & Technology Network to strengthen innovation and skills in digital finance.
As part of the programme, 195 students developed solutions addressing real-world financial challenges through capstone projects. Based on their performance, seven students were selected to represent the state at the international forum in Tokyo, Japan.
The team presented their project titled “TranchiFy – A Trust-Based Working Capital Platform for Next-Generation SMEs.” The proposed technology-driven platform aims to simplify access to working capital for small and medium enterprises by providing a transparent and efficient digital credit framework.
The students represented institutions including Ravenshaw University, Utkal University, and Salepur Autonomous College, and were accompanied by officials from the Higher Education Department.
Their participation provided exposure to global fintech trends and interaction with international experts in the financial services sector. The initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to build a skilled talent pool in fintech, banking and digital finance, while strengthening Odisha’s engagement with global academic and technology networks.
