Bhubaneswar, 10 March (H.S.): The Odisha government has assured that there is sufficient availability of cooking gas (LPG) as well as petrol and diesel in the state. Chief Secretary Anu Garg reviewed the supply situation during a meeting held at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh and officials from major oil marketing companies, including Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.

During the discussion, officials reviewed the distribution process and supply chain from refineries and depots to LPG distributors and retail fuel outlets. Representatives of the oil companies informed that there is no shortage in the supply of LPG, petrol or diesel to consumers across the state.

The Chief Secretary advised the public not to be concerned, stating that adequate stocks of cooking gas are available. She also directed oil companies to maintain a balanced supply chain to ensure uninterrupted availability of LPG and fuel.

Officials further confirmed that there is no disruption in LPG supply to essential institutions such as educational establishments and hospitals.

The meeting also directed the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department and oil companies to regularly disseminate information regarding the availability of LPG, petrol and diesel to keep the public informed.

Oil companies have additionally been asked to share with the state government daily reports that they submit to the Centre regarding the availability and supply of LPG and fuel in the state.
