Hooghly, 01 March (H.S.):

While the dates for the state assembly elections have not yet been announced, the deployment of central security forces has begun well before the elections to prevent any untoward incidents. In this regard, a contingent of central force personnel arrived in Hooghly district early Sunday morning.

As per information, this contingent arrived at Dankuni station early Sunday morning. Sources within Chandannagar Police Commissionerate said that five companies of central forces will arrive in the commissionerate area in the first phase, and three companies later. They will be deployed in various police station areas.

In addition, separate central forces will be sent to Hooghly rural police area. Notably, central forces have already arrived in Nadia and Malda districts.

According to the administration, this advance deployment of central forces is primarily aimed at boosting public confidence and morale.
