New Delhi, 09 February (H.S.): The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) announced a game-changing mobile app on Monday, enabling over 80 million subscribers to withdraw eligible PF balances directly into bank accounts via Unified Payments Interface (UPI) gateway.

Official sources revealed the Labour & Employment Ministry's initiative secures a portion of EPF balances while unlocking substantial sums for instant UPI transfers. Subscribers will view available PF balances for withdrawal, authenticate via linked UPI PIN, and complete secure transactions—all through the dedicated app.

Beyond withdrawals, the app delivers passbook balance checks and additional services, currently undergoing testing ahead of April's large-scale rollout. Existing Universal Account Number (UAN) portal and UMANG app access remains intact.

EPFO members presently rely on UAN portal or UMANG for account management; the new specialized app promises streamlined service delivery and superior user experience for India's massive PF subscriber base.
