Murshidabad, 08 February (H.S.): Controversial MLA Humayun Kabir has announced that construction of the Babri Masjid will begin on February 11th. The very next day, February 12th, he will launch a ‘Babri Yatra’ (Babri pilgrimage) that will traverse several parts of the state. This journey aims to send a message of unity, connecting North and South Bengal. Humayun Kabir provided detailed information regarding this at a press conference held in Murshidabad on Sunday.

Humayun Kabir had previously announced the construction of the Babri Masjid in Beldanga, Murshidabad. His estrangement from the ruling Trinamool Congress is now openly apparent, and he is actively strategizing to defeat the party. Consequently, the potential impact of the Babri Masjid construction issue on the upcoming assembly elections in Bengal has become a subject of intense discussion in political circles.

As per information, the formal commencement of the Babri Masjid construction will take place on February 11th after a recitation of the Quran. The Babri Yatra will begin the following day, February 12th. The journey will start from Plassey in Nadia-Murshidabad and conclude in Itahar, North Dinajpur. A total of 100 vehicles will participate in the yatra, with six people, including the driver, in each vehicle. Thus, approximately 600 people will be part of this journey. The total distance of the yatra is estimated to be around 265 kilometers.

Regarding the purpose of the Babri Yatra, Humayun Kabir stated that some people are continuously spreading misinformation about the Babri Masjid construction. The aim of this journey is to counter this alleged misinformation and inform the general public about the truth regarding the construction. He said, “Previously, one person tried to spread misinformation, but he failed. Anyone who tries to do so in the future will also fail.”

Political analysts believe that through this journey connecting North and South Bengal, Humayun Kabir has indirectly launched his election campaign. Therefore, this issue is likely to further intensify the political climate in the state in the coming days.
