Guwahati, 08 February (HS): The Assam Pradesh BJP on Sunday levelled serious allegations against Assam Congress president and MP Gaurav Gogoi, claiming possible links with Pakistan and raising concerns over national security. The party said the issue gained prominence after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma released findings of a Special Investigation Team.

In a statement, BJP spokesperson Pranjal Kalita questioned Gogoi’s past travel to Pakistan, family-related decisions, and alleged associations, including the employment of his spouse with a Pakistan-based NGO. The party also sought clarification on defence-related questions raised by Gogoi in Parliament.

The BJP organised protests across 39 organisational districts of Assam, demanding a thorough investigation with the involvement of the Government of India. State BJP president Dilip Saikia said the allegations must be examined with utmost seriousness and called on Gogoi to give clear answers to the public.-----------
