New Delhi, 07 February (H.S.):

Rouse Avenue Court has deferred its decision on the bail application of Amardeep Lochab, an accused in the MCOCA case linked to Aam Aadmi Party leader Naresh Balyan. Special Judge Vishal Gogane reserved judgment on January 30 and ordered the verdict to be pronounced on February 12.

On Saturday, the court heard arguments regarding Naresh Balyan's request for document access. It directed Balyan's counsel to jointly verify records with the investigating officer.

The court also considered Manoj Kara's plea for phone and video jail visits, with the jail superintendent confirming that a no-objection note had been sent to the Crime Branch per jail manual protocols.

Despite the investigating officer's claim of not receiving it, the court mandated the jail authorities to furnish the document promptly.

On January 24, the court took cognizance of Delhi Police's fifth supplementary chargesheet against Manoj Yadav alias Kara under MCOCA Sections 3 and 4. The chargesheet identifies Yadav as a member of an organized crime syndicate operated by fugitive Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu. Investigations revealed multiple FIRs against Yadav for criminal activities.

The case stems from communications between Naresh Balyan and gangster Kapil Sangwan in 2023, prompting an FIR that year. Sangwan, a Najafgarh native residing in Britain for the past five years, remains at large.

He is the alleged mastermind behind Haryana's Nafe Singh murder, as well as the killings of Ballu Pehlwan and BJP leader Surender Matiala. Balyan, also from Najafgarh, represented Uttam Nagar Assembly constituency in 2015 and 2019.
