
Mumbai, 06 February (H.S.): The ICC Men's T20 World Cup will commence on Saturday, February 7, at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium with a grand and high-energy opening ceremony. This vibrant extravaganza, preceding the India vs. USA inaugural match, will infuse the entire tournament with excitement and fervor.
At 6:00 PM, Wankhede Stadium will transform into a massive immersive stage featuring live music, large-scale choreography, and stunning visuals. The centerpiece of the ceremony will be the grand arrival of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup trophy.
The program will kick off with a powerful musical medley by Rishabh Sharma and Shivmani. Subsequently, an artist mounted on a jetpack will bring the World Cup trophy into the stadium, creating an exhilarating and unforgettable moment for spectators.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah and former Indian captain Rohit Sharma—who led India to the title victory in the 2024 edition—will welcome the trophy. Accompanied by 20 children representing all participating nations, they will formally inaugurate the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.Thereafter, audiences will witness a magnificent fusion of music and dance.
Renowned rapper and singer Badshah will command the stage with his high-energy live performance, while Nora Fatehi will captivate with her electrifying dance routine. Involving a large contingent of dancers, the event will culminate in a joint grand finale performance by Badshah and Nora Fatehi.
Specially designed to reflect the fast pace and energy of T20 cricket, the ceremony will utilize the entire field as a visual canvas, with the official tournament logo serving as the main performance stage. The spectacle will conclude with dazzling fireworks, setting the stage for the real 'fireworks' in the India vs. USA match beginning at 7:00 PM.
