05 Feb (HS): Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state
government is going to take another concrete step towards making persons with
disabilities self-reliant. The Divyangjan Rojgar Abhiyan 2.0 will
be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission in all districts of
the state from February 06 to 13, 2026. The objective of this special campaign
is to provide employment as well as self-employment opportunities to persons
with disabilities. This initiative of the Yogi government is another strong
step towards providing a dignified livelihood, self-reliance, and social
inclusion for persons with disabilities.
Kapil
Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education,
Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship of the state, informed that under the
campaign, eligible and interested persons with disabilities trained through the
Skill Development Mission and ITIs in the last three years, who are currently
available in the districts, will be linked to employment. Additionally, other
interested persons with disabilities available at the district level will also
be able to benefit from this campaign.
During
the Divyangjan Rojgar Abhiyan, persons with disabilities will be employed
against vacancies available in industrial units and other establishments
operating in the districts. In addition, persons with disabilities will also be
linked with MSME, District Industries and Export Promotion Centers, and
self-employment schemes of other departments.
This
campaign will be conducted in every district by a committee formed under the
chairmanship of the Chief Development Officer, which will include the District
Industries and Export Promotion Center, District Divyangjan Empowerment
Officer, District Employment Assistance Officer, and District Coordinator of
the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission. During the specified period,
employment and self-employment related activities will be organized by making
Government ITIs the center.
Pulkit
Khare, Director of the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission, informed that
interested persons with disabilities registered on the Rojgar Sangam portal
will also be included in this campaign. They will be employed in available
vacancies through the District Employment Assistance Officer. Instructions have
been given to widely publicize the campaign at the district level so that more
and more persons with disabilities can take advantage of this opportunity and
join the mainstream of employment. Upon successful implementation of the
campaign, the District Magistrates and their teams of the top 05 districts of
the state providing the most employment and self-employment will be awarded
certificates of appreciation.
