27 Feb (HS): In Uttar Pradesh, government employees will now have a holiday on
March 3 for Holi. Previously, holidays were declared on March 2 and 4. Due to
the lunar eclipse on March 3, Holika Dahan will be held on March 2, and the colors
will be played on March 4. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict
instructions to all officials. In a meeting at the Chief Minister's residence
on Friday, he directed officials to ensure that all employees' salaries are
paid before Holi.
He
said that officials should ensure that all employees, including
outsourcing/contract workers/sanitation workers, are paid before Holi. He
stated that any negligence will not be tolerated. Saturday, February 28, has
been declared a working day. In lieu of this, all employees will receive a
holiday on March 3. In Uttar Pradesh, Holi holidays will now be observed on
March 2, 3, and 4. Since March 1 is a Sunday, there will be four consecutive
days off.
