26 Feb (HS): The SHoDH AU Unit successfully organised a thought-provoking

academic discussion on “Scientific Discoveries that Changed Humanity” at the

Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science, University of Allahabad. The

programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, research

scholars, and academicians, reflecting a vibrant academic environment on

campus.

The

session featured distinguished speakers Dr. Rohit Kumar Mishra, Associate

Professor, Centre of Science Society, IIDS, University of Allahabad; Dr. Abhay

Pratap, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics, University of Allahabad;

and Shri Himanshu Pandey, PhD Scholar, Department of Psychology, University of

Allahabad, and National Co-Convenor, SHoDH. The speakers elaborated on landmark

scientific discoveries and their profound impact on human civilisation,

society, and contemporary thought.

During

the discussion, the speakers emphasised the interlinkages between scientific

progress and social transformation, highlighting how major discoveries have

reshaped human understanding, technology, and quality of life. Their insightful

deliberations made the session highly informative and intellectually enriching

for the audience.

The

active engagement of students and research scholars through questions and

interactions significantly contributed to the success of the programme. The

SHoDH AU Committee expressed its commitment to continuing such academic

initiatives aimed at fostering scientific temper, critical thinking, and

interdisciplinary dialogue within the university community. On this occasion,

members of the SHoDH AU and university students were present in large numbers,
