Kolkata, 23 February (H.S.) : A fire broke out on the fourth floor of a posh high-rise apartment in the Anandapur area of south Kolkata on Monday morning, fire officials said.

According to the fire department, a call reporting the blaze was received at 10:51 a.m., following which a fire tender was immediately dispatched to the spot. However, by the time firefighters arrived, the building’s internal firefighting system had already brought the flames under control.

The fire reportedly originated in the kitchen of a flat. No injuries were reported in the incident, officials confirmed.

Fire personnel carried out cooling operations to prevent any possibility of a flare-up. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, officials added.
