
Cachar (Assam), 23 February (HS): In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Cachar Police seized a large quantity of Yaba tablets during an anti-narcotics operation at Jirighat in the district. Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested in connection with the case.
According to police sources, the operation led to the recovery of 10,000 Yaba tablets from a Bolero pickup vehicle. The estimated market value of the seized contraband is around ₹3 crore.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Khumba and K. Namthuidinang Rongmei, both residents of Manipur. Police have launched a detailed investigation to ascertain the source and intended destination of the consignment, as well as to uncover any wider network involved in the trafficking operation.-------
