
Pakke Kesang (Arunachal Pradesh), 23 February (HS): In a significant development marking a new chapter in inter-state relations, the first border pillar between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh has been installed in Pakke Kesang district following the signing of the Namsai Declaration on Monday.
The installation of the pillar comes in the wake of the historic agreement reached between the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at resolving long-pending boundary disputes. The move is being seen as a concrete step towards implementing the terms of the declaration on the ground.
Officials stated that the erection of the first border pillar signifies the beginning of physical demarcation of the inter-state boundary, bringing clarity to areas that had witnessed decades of uncertainty and occasional tensions.
The development has been described as a milestone in strengthening coordination and cooperation between the two northeastern states, paving the way for improved administration, stability and development in the border regions.---------
