Bhubaneswar, 23 February (H.S.): Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed the Odisha Assembly that the state received its highest-ever ₹15,685.09 crore under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) during the financial year 2023–24. He stated that in 2021–22 the budget estimate under CSS was ₹21,808.96 crore, out of which ₹11,819.86 crore was received, while in 2022–23 the estimate stood at ₹20,399.49 crore with ₹11,741.21 crore released. For 2023–24, the estimate was ₹20,663.32 crore and the state received ₹15,685.09 crore. In 2024–25 the estimate was ₹25,564.39 crore with ₹11,384.60 crore received, and as of December 2025 in 2025–26 the estimate is ₹29,101.44 crore with ₹6,005.92 crore released so far.

The Chief Minister provided the details in response to a question by MLA Ramesh Chandra Behera seeking information on budget estimates and actual central fund receipts between 2021–22 and 2025–26. Under Finance Commission of India grants, Odisha received ₹4,556.77 crore against an estimate of ₹5,357 crore in 2021–22, ₹4,220.80 crore against ₹4,732.17 crore in 2022–23, ₹4,867.22 crore against ₹6,250.84 crore in 2023–24, ₹5,450.06 crore against ₹7,011.94 crore in 2024–25, and ₹3,373.61 crore against ₹6,611.27 crore as of December 2025 in 2025–26.
