Bhubaneswar, 22 February (H.S.): The Higher Education Department has sanctioned ₹1.73 crore for the development of 11 colleges and one university in Odisha under the “Ama Gourav Ama College” scheme, aiming to strengthen academic and infrastructural facilities across institutions.

The beneficiaries include Ravenshaw University, Agalpur Panchayat Samiti (Degree) College, Bijepur (Degree) College, Salepur (Autonomous) College, Biren Mitra Memorial Women’s (Degree) College, Panchayat Degree College Kalla, Hindol (Degree) College, Mahima Degree College, Belaguntha Science Degree College, Naktideul Degree College, Government Autonomous College Phulbani and Jasoda Bishnu College.

According to the department, the sanctioned funds will be utilised for multiple development initiatives, including strengthening library resources, construction of laboratories, development of sports and academic complexes, installation of Wi-Fi connectivity and CCTV surveillance systems.

Officials stated that the initiative is aimed at modernising infrastructure and enhancing academic facilities, thereby creating improved learning opportunities and a better campus environment for students across the state.
