
Guwahati, 22 February (HS): Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended a blood donation camp organised at Chandmari by Lok Bhavan, Assam in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch, as part of Sewa Sankalp Saptah.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor described blood donation as a noble humanitarian act that reflects compassion, empathy and social responsibility. He said such initiatives strengthen Assam’s collective spirit of service and urged citizens, especially the youth, to donate blood at least once a year.
Regular donors including Hariman Deka (96 times), Prakash D. Atreya (62 times) and Prabin Barua (25 times) were acknowledged for their commitment. Senior officials of the Red Cross, Health Department and Lok Bhavan were present on the occasion.----------
